As 2017 begins, I am embarking on a variety of photography avenues. Today I had the pleasure of working with sweet Miss Addilyn in the studio. She is only 12 days old and all of about 6 pounds. She was the sweetest thing ever.
We started out on the back pose. She was so tiny. I was super nervous because the wraps and headbands swallowed her.
It didn't matter what I did to her, she rocked it!
I have to say, I think this is my most favorite of Miss Addilyn.
When I found this wrap, I had not idea her nursery was actually in owls and butterflies. I hope her mom will cherish this picture for years to come.
I think this is my second favorite of her. She looks so angelic and at complete peace.
Even images that you are not so sure will look as good when you are in the middle of posing a baby, it still comes out beautiful. For a typical newborn shoot, it is easier to pose them when they are between 6-14 days old and sleepy, usually after a good feed. It is best to wait until you get to the studio before you top off your little one. Expect between 2-4 hours for a complete shoot to take place. We allow this time to make sure mom and baby are completely comfortable and mom isn't worked up and nervous because the baby is fussy, and the baby isn't fussy because he or she is hungry.
